Wheaton W225608-A Crimpenstein Electric Crimper/Decapper with 20mm Crimper Jaw

The Wheaton W225608-A Crimpenstein electric crimper/decapper is an ergonomic tool that attaches and removes aluminum seals, or caps, on crimp-top containers, and comes with a removable/replaceable 20 mm crimper jaw for use with any 20 mm seal. This tool has an ergonomic design that minimizes fatigue and increases productivity compared to manual crimpers and decappers. Jaw action can be adjusted to create tighter or looser crimping pressure, and microprocessor memory records the most recent setting and applies it when the tool is turned on again. The foam-lined plastic carrying and storage case comes with an 11-foot electrical cord and power supply, for portability and quick setup. This tool crimps and decaps serum finish (“crimp-top”) bottles and vials that are commonly used for lyophilization (freeze-drying), chromatography, or protein purification processes; for pharmaceutical research and development; for quality control; and in production or general chemistry labs. The Wheaton W225608-A crimper/decapper main unit measures 26.3 cm (10.3”) high with a jaw attached, and approximately 8” high without it; the diameter is 6.9 cm (2.7”); and the weight is 1.5 lb. with a jaw attached. The main unit has a polystyrene housing. The jaw is composed of a steel crimping mechanism encased in an aluminum shell. Both the main unit and jaw are threaded so they can attach and detach easily, yet maintain a secure fit. The main unit can be used with four jaw sets, and with individual crimper and decapper jaws, available in 8, 11, 13, and 20 mm sizes (all sold separately). The carrying case measures 4 x 17.5 x 12.5 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) This device meets United States FCC Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Title 47, Part 15, Subpart B for Class A Digital Devices; this Class A digital apparatus meets all requirements of the Canadian Interference-Causing Equipment Regulations; this Class A digital apparatus complies with Canadian ICES-003; this device meets European Standards (ENs) EN 61326-1:2006 and EN 61010-1:2001 (2nd Edition). Crimpers are tools used to attach malleable material to an object by compressing the material so that it grips the object. Crimper/decappers close the mouth of a container by crimping a metal cap over the container’s mouth to form a seal; they also decap, or remove the cap, to unseal a container. Electric crimper/decappers use electric power to reduce the manual effort and time required for these operations. Electric crimper/decappers are used for crimping and decapping bottles and vials in scientific, medical, or pharmaceutical research laboratories, as well as in production laboratories and quality control operations.
